In 2015, Nha Trang Vocational College linked with STEINSVIK Company, Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, Cam Lam District to provide training in such sectors as assembly, industrial electricity, milling and welding. This year, 35 students are under the cooperation training model. The responsibilities of the companies include training supervision and involvement in graduation exam councils as well as equipment supply for practice classes. The 2-year cooperation training has provided qualified labor force for the companies.

Recently, the college has also cooperated with Vinpearl Nha Trang Company in vocational training. Accordingly, Vinpearl Nha Trang Company has sent experts to get engaged in setting up training curricula, share actual experience and give guidance on learner assessment.

Excellent students have been given priority from their first year for the specific training, meeting the Vingroup standards, especially in the specialties of technique, hotel & tourism in conformity with regulations by the current vocational training system. The company has pledged to fund school fees and grant scholarships to students.

The college has received announcements of 3,000 job vacancies in electricity, mechanics and welding from some companies  such as Lilama 10 Company; Lilama 45.5 Company and National Oil Services Joint Stock Company of Vietnam (OSC Vietnam), says Tran Van Hai, Principal of Nha Trang Vocational College.

It takes from 6 months to 1 year to retrain newly-graduated students, so the training cooperation is necessary to save time and help students to meet actual work demand, according to many employers at the training vocational vocation agreement- signing ceremony recently held by Nha Trang Vocational College.

“Our company has cooperated with Nha Trang Vocational College to provide apprenticeship opportunities and employment for graduates for 3 years. We have also made vocational training orders in environment and mechanics sectors. Most of the trainees can quickly get access to work without the need to be retrained,” says Dinh Gia Trinh, Head of the Personnel Office, Hoang Thuan Phat Company, Nha Trang City.

Some companies have given some suggestions for more effective training cooperation. “More focus and investment in updated devices are required. The company can provide 3D paining designs for learning and teaching,” says Khong Hy Thiem, Technical Vice-Director of An Khang Environment & Technology Company. More training on soft skills, including professional work and group work skills, is required as they play an important role in the real work environment, according to an employer.

Vocational training linked with employment needs has brought satisfactory results, providing more job opportunities for graduates. All suggestions made by employers have been taken into account for curricula adjustment and long-term cooperation with companies inside and outside Khanh Hoa Province, according to Tran Van Hai.

At the workshop, many companies have signed cooperation agreements with the college to help students to get suitable careers for their skills, qualifications and work demand.
