Nha Trang City Red Cross has celebrated the 153rd World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8, 1863-2016) themed “Everywhere for everyone” and reviewed the Red Cross tasks in the first 5 months of 2016.
More than 16 million people worldwide are volunteers for the Red Cross campaign. Over 400,000 people in Vietnam are involved in such fields as emergency, blood donation, humanitarian medical care; epidemic and natural disaster prevention and control propaganda. There are more than 17,000 Red Cross members in Nha Trang City.
Since the beginning of the year, Nha Trang City Red Cross at all levels has done humanitarian work worth some VND3.8 billion, including VND1.9 billion towards New Year gifts for the poor and Agent Orange victims; and VND1.7 billion towards medical care. Besides, nearly 450 units of blood have been donated at a total cost of VND153 million, etc.
