Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has just issued a plan for a mosquito larvicide campaign for dengue and Zika prevention and control in Khanh Hoa.
Accordingly, the vector surveillance and control campaign will be carried out before the high-risk periods from June to July and from September to October annually. The larvicide application and space spraying campaign will run in 100% of wards, communes and towns at epidemic risk twice a year, assuring 80-90% decrease in mosquito density after an insecticide spraying drive. 100% of families under the campaign will be provided guidance to kill mosquitoes and effectively clean and rinse water containers.
Medical institutions at district and commune levels are required to give consulting on the campaign implementation and mobilize locals, departments, agencies and mass organizations to join mosquito larvicide effort for dengue and Zika prevention. The space praying drives are expected to take place in 2 periods, on June 15-30 and September 1-30.
