The 2016 sixth National Children’s Festival is scheduled to open at 2-4 Square, Nha Trang City on June 28. All kid contestants in Khanh Hoa Province are ready for the big event.

During the festival, there will be a lot of interesting activities, including art, English speaking, sports and young pioneers’ leadership contests. Nguyen Bui Thanh Duc, a student at Tran Quoc Toan Junior High School, Nha Trang City, has prepared for his presentation for 1 month. He is going to introduce about the friendliness as well as important events and tourist attractions in Nha Trang beach city. “I am trying to have an expressive speech. This is my first time at this event. I will try my best to succeed,” says Nguyen Bui Thanh Duc.
Reportedly, 59 contestants from cities and provinces nationwide are expected to join the English Speaking Contest scheduled to open at Conference Center of Au Lac Thinh Restaurant (75A Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street) on June 28.
In addition, the young pioneers’ leadership contest included a knowledge event at Khanh Hoa Children’s House on June 28; teambuilding games and skill showcase at Nhan Tam Ecological Tourist Site on the following day. Le Vu Nhat An, a student at Le Hong Phong Junior High School, Cam Ranh City, started reviewing knowledge and practicing skills for the competition early this month. Le Vu Nhat An feels quite confident as she is well -prepared with such skills as giving signals, making knots, decoding secret letters, etc thanks to the support of her father, who is a teacher in charge of Young Pioneers’ Organization activities. Khanh Hoa Province does not have contestants competing in the art event.
Over 500 children are practicing for the musical performance at the opening night. Musical groups have practiced their performance for 1 month with various activities such as a street parade, unicorn dance, street art, etc, says Musician Le Van Cau, who is in charge of the art content. Especially, the musician has created 2 new children’s songs with joyful melodies, showing hospitality and a jubilant welcome to Nha Trang City at the festival.
Besides, an art competition is scheduled to take place at the Conference Center (46 Tran Phu), Khanh Hoa Children’s House, Naval Academy and Khanh Hoa Labor Cultural House from June 29. Moreover, 500 kids in Khanh Hoa will join a drawing contest about the homeland’s sea and islands at the beach park, beside the 2-4 Square on June 28. Particularly, children from cities and provinces nationwide will join effort in creating a 75m painting to mark the 75th foundation anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers’ Organization. 120 outstanding works of art are expected to be selected for exhibition on June 29.
A teacher named Hoang Thi Truc Phuong, Khanh Hoa Children’s House says 50 teams will take part in table tennis and badminton matches at Khanh Hoa Sport Hall (33 Phan Chu Trinh, Nha Trang City) from June 28. “We have chosen 8 children for the competition. They have been well-prepared in terms of spiritual and physical health and skills,” says Teacher Hoang Thi Truc Phuong.
Preparations for the festival have gone smoothly. All the contestants have get good preparation and constant practice. Apart from competitions, a variety of exchange programs and social activities will take place to provide opportunities for many children nationwide to meet, have fun and share experience, according to Nguyen Van Nhuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, Deputy Head of the local Steering Board, a joint organizer of the festival.
