Positive changes
According to Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of Youth Union Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneer Organization, the 2016 festival, which was first held outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, had many changes in the mode of operation. “With diverse activities in which the competitions were integrated with the practical social activities, this year’s festival has been the most successful one ever. The organization of the host Khanh Hoa played a great role in the success of the festival,” said Hai.
Although the festival took place in a short period of time, the organization board included some changes into this year’s festival due to the favorable weather, venues and traffic. Specifically, apart from the three traditional events (arts, sports, painting), there were two new ones incorporated into the festival, which were good Young Pioneer conductors and English oratory. The new events gave the children opportunity to show the skills of a young pioneer and their eloquence in English.
In addition, the organization board associated with Khanh Hoa Province to hold a program to establish a record of most children performing line dance and doing smile yoga, joined by more than 5,000 teenagers and children. Besides, an auction of over 100 paintings drawn by the children from the children’s houses nationwide was also held, collecting VND50 million which was then given to Dien Bien Provincial Children’s House.

As the host of the sixth National Festival for Children’s Houses, Khanh Hoa was highly evaluated in organization and participation in the festival’s activities.
The children of Khanh Hoa gained excellent achievements in the competitions of the festival, asserting the quality of children’s movement activities in Khanh Hoa. The organization board held activities which were suitable for the children, creating useful playground for the children and helping them to learn about the province. The participating units also brought their performances to some localities in the province to serve the locals; exchanged with the soldiers of the Naval Region 4; visited Cam Ranh International Port, and so on. Additionally, the children joined team building activities at the beach of Diamond Bay tourist site; had jolly time in Vinpearl Land Nha Trang, etc.

It can be said that the professional organization, drawing the most number of participating units compared to the previous festivals, made the success of the 2016 festival. Other units also highly evaluated the organization of the host unit,” said Nguyen Nhan, Director of Da Nang City Children’s House.
Nguyen Van Nhuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union said, “The activities held in the festival showed the development of children’s movement in Khanh Hoa Province. Through the festival, we drew experience to organize more practical and meaningful activities for children.”
