Le Duc Vinh, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Chairman, attended the 2016 World Cities Summit (WCS) Mayors Forum in Singapore on July 10.
The event themed “Livable and Sustainable Cities: Innovative Cities of Opportunity” drew the participation of 150 mayors from 40 cities worldwide. The forum aimed to provide opportunities for city leaders to meet and discuss pressing urban issues; and urge cooperation among city leaders.
The two sessions included “Innovative Solutions: New Answers to Wicked Problems” and “Innovative Governance: Inventing the Toolbox for Better Cities”. The first session focused on sharing from mayors about innovating their approaches to some of their city’s toughest and long standing challenges in the areas of smart cities, housing, transportation, economic development and sustainability. The second session focused on governance innovation for city leaders to re-organize their urban systems and develop integrated urban solutions.
At the forum, Le Duc Vinh shared experience and solutions to the promotion of a livable and sustainable city in Khanh Hoa. He also invited international investors and financial organizations to do research and invest in sectors related to urban infrastructures, educational science and technology development in Khanh Hoa.
