Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to award a certificate of merit to Professor John Quelch, Vice-Principal of Harvard Business School (USA) on July 27 for the cause of the development of Khanh Hoa known as the Land of Aloe Wood. Present at the event was Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman.

Professor John Quelch has made great intellectual contribution to strategies and creative and feasible ideas to build Nha Trang to become a high- standard tourist city, especially in Van Phong and Bai Dai Cam Ranh with the support of Harvard Business School. The professor has also had criticism of the Posco steel project for its possible environmental damage to the landscape, environment and many other disadvantages.
 
In addition, the professor has had an initiative to connect Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa to Boston, Massachusettes and build Nha Trang to become the world’s  center of technological creation, culture and art. Presently, John Quelch is donating and seeking for intellectual recourses to build Nha Trang Village of Peace and Creativeness.
 
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Duc Vinh expressed his hope for John Quelch and his fellow-workers’ continued intellectual contribution to building Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa to become the world’s Center of Peace and Creativeness in the 21st century, turning the project into reality soon.
