An HIV/ AIDS prevention and control propaganda session held in To Hap Town by Khanh Hoa Women’s Union in cooperation with Khanh Hoa HIV/ AIDS Prevention & Control Center has drawn a large number of participants. Specific knowledge about HIV/AIDS transmission, medical insurance for the infected and so on were provided.
 

Pham Thi Hong, Chairman of To Hap Town Women’s Union says the event has raised women women’s awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention and control as well as policies related to the disease.
 

Women’s Union members and women in the communes of Cam Hai Tay, Cam Hai Dong (Cam Lam District), Son Trung and To Hap Town (Khanh Son District) also raised many questions at the traffic safety training session. Friendly propagandists effectively improved women’s awareness of traffics safety and their responsibilities to remind their children of wearing helmets when riding electric motor-scooters and following traffic rules.


Nguyen Thi Hien, Doc Gao Village, To Hap Town says, “Thanks to the training session, I learn that it is compulsory to register for electric motor-scooters. I will follow the instruction.”


Besides, Khanh Hoa Women’s Union has frequently focused on building propaganda models to raise legal awareness of residents in general and women in particular. In the past 6 months, Khanh Hoa Women’s Union at all levels has focused on propagandizing legal documents which take effective in 2016 and other relevant documents, especially on gender equality, traffic safety, HIV/AIDS prevention and control to raise legal awareness and life skills.
 

Through meetings of women’s clubs, loan grant groups, the Women’s Union at all levels in association with local authorities propagandized knowledge about gender equality, anti-family violence, anti-drug; social and medical insurance, etc for more than 180,000 members.


In the time to come, the Women’s Union plans to continue directing its subsidiaries to provide consulting about health care and law support for Women’s Union members, needy women in rural areas and ethnic minority people, says Quynh Nga, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Women’s Union.
