Over the past years, Khanh Hoa Trade Union at all levels has regularly made innovation in its activities towards its grassroots organizations to better protect workers’ legal rights and improve their living standards.

Khanh Hoa Trade Union at all levels has boosted its law propaganda; focused on raising Trade Union officials’ competence; developed its membership and strengthened the role of the Trade Union. Khanh Hoa Trade Union has drawn more than 1,500 grassroots affiliations with over 86,000 members so far.
In addition, 6 Fisheries Trade Unions with more than 700 members who are fisherman and fishing boat owners have been established. Emulation campaigns, particularly “Excellent and creative labor” movement, have been effectively implemented. Since 2011, more than 2,000 workers’ initiatives have been recognized, earning a profit worth hundreds of billion dongs for enterprises and the society. 100 creative labor certificates have been granted to workers by Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Especially, Khanh Hoa Trade Union has created favorable conditions for grassroots Trade Unions to operate and listen to workers’ opinions and suggestions to assure workers’ legal benefits and rights; in cooperation with businesses, opened workers’ conferences and dialogues in workplaces to improve the effectiveness of negotiation and implementation of collective labor agreements, helping to create a secure and productive work environment. Besides, Khanh Hoa Trade Union has enhanced its inspection of the implementation of labor regulations; and improved law consulting to protect employees’ legal rights.
Furthermore, since 2007, the Trade Union’s Housing Fund has mobilized more than VND8 billion and provided financial aid for house repair and construction for more than 300 poor workers’ families; and given support to thousands of fishermen to buy insurance for their ship bodies and crew.
Many other activities have been held to improve working staff and Trade Union members’ living standards. The Trade Union at all levels has offered train tickets, rent buses for workers’ trip back home for their New Year holiday, organized New Year parties for workers far from home; held sporting and cultural activities, etc.
In the time to come, Khanh Hoa Trade Union at all levels will continue innovation in activities towards its grassroots organizations, focus on protecting workers’ legal rights to assure their decent living standards and create a productive work environment; promote cultural life construction, grassroots democracy and dialogues in work places; represent workers to sign collective labor agreements, urge workers to improve their academic and professional knowledge and skills; build cultural institutions at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, Cam Lam District, to better meet workers’ mental needs; improve grassroots Trade Unions’ operation to meet the needs of both enterprises and employees; expand charity activities to give support to workers in need and having occupational accidents, etc.
