Since 2012, the Representative Board of Cam Ranh City Association for the Elderly in cooperation with Cam Ranh City General Hospital and Saigon-Nha Trang Eye Hospital has provided free eye examination and medications for more than 3,800 old people. 350 patients determined for cataract and pterygium surgery have received financial support worth over VND1.8 billion.
Reportedly, there are still many old people with eye diseases in island communes and ethnic minority communities. Therefore, in the time to come, the Representative Board of Cam Ranh City Association for the Elderly plans to enhance cooperation with medical institutions to provide medical examination, counseling and surgery support.
