Most of pedestrians of main streets and median strips of Hung Vuong Avenue, Nguyen Trong Ky and 3-4 are covered with plants. At present, Cam Ranh City has 2 big parks named 18-10 and 22-8, adding green attraction to the city.

According to Nguyen Binh Nam, Chief of Cam Ranh Urban Management Bureau, the parks, parterres and median strips are nearly 5ha with more than 5,200 plants. The green space density is 0.2%. in inner wards. However, the urban trees have not met the green space requirement for a third-class city.

The development of urban trees is taken into account besides criteria for population size, land, basic socio-economic growth, adapting the urban development demand according to specific stage; the trend in urban development, locations of centers of main and special functions, according to Cam Ranh urban development planning till 2035 approved by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.

The investment in urban green space plays an important role in synchronous development of urban infrastructures, adding attraction to the landscape and architecture. Under the city planning, the city administrative center in Cam Phu Ward, 40ha, is expected to become a center of administration and politics for urban development till 2035. Urban trees cover 479ha, 20 - 25m2/person, with 600ha ecological trees.

According to Tran Ta, Chief Cam Ranh Department of Finance & Planning, VND2.5 billion was invested in planting trees on streets under the planning for 5 years (2016 - 2020).  The city allocated VND500 million/ year to tree cultivation in 2014 and 2015.

In 2016, the urban management Bureau has made announcement and completed procedures for planting trees in the coming rainy season. The city will start with cultivating trees on streets and the national road 1 (Cam Phu, Cam Nghia); planting trees and building parks; investing in building 19-5 Park in Cam Loc Ward and Thong Nhat Park in Cam Thuan Ward to be recreational parks; adding trees and shrubs to median strips on Hung Vuong Avenue and 18-10 Park where the statue of Uncle Ho is located, etc.
