In recent years, Khanh Hoa Post Office has innovated, upgraded and diversified services at communal cultural post offices.

80 communal cultural post offices have been innovated and repaired at a total cost of VND2.5 billion. Apart from conventional services, Khanh Hoa Post Office has developed multi-service business such as non-life insurance, life insurance agent, SIM cards, AVG television charge, retirement pension, social insurance fee collection, customer goods retail, etc. in order to raise turnover and thus improve staff’s income and help them feel secure at work.
Besides locations on the mainland, 2 new communal cultural post offices were established in Sinh Ton Commune, Truong Sa Town, Truong Sa District in 2014 to serve officials, soldiers, residents and visitors. At present, there are 89 communal cultural post offices in Khanh Hoa Province. “Khanh Hoa Post Office strives to maintain the operation of all communal cultural post offices. 2 post offices in Binh Hung and Cam Thinh Dong will reopen,” says Ung Thi Van, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Post Office.
At present, 87 communal cultural post offices are open to readers and other customers. Khanh Hoa Post Office has implemented a national target program on bringing information to the grassroots through 22 communal cultural post offices; in association with Khanh Hoa Department of Information & Communications has developed a program “Bringing scientific and technological information to serve agricultural ad rural development”. Besides strengthening the operation of communal cultural post offices for public benefit, Khanh Hoa Post Office has boosted its business, focusing on retail financial services, distribution and communication.
According to Ung Thi Van, since October 2015, Khanh Hoa Post Office has opened 12 multi-service communal cultural post offices in Khanh Hoa and 10 new ones are expected to open. Together with infrastructure improvement and service expansion, every year, Khanh Hoa Post Office provides professional development training for communal cultural post offices staff. Incentives for business have also been applied to encourage staff to increase turnover.
The roles and positions of communal cultural post offices have raised in public postal network. Post office staff have become more active in seeking for customers, developing services and thus increasing staff’s income. Their average income is VND1.6 million/ month/ person. Some can earn up to VND10 million from collection services. “In the time to come, we will continue taking methods to improve the image and service quality of communal cultural post offices as well as raise staff’s income,” says Ung Thi Van.
Apart from public postal services, reading materials and delivery service, multi-service communal cultural post offices provide postal financial services such as money transfer, bill collection and payment; motorbike, car and life insurance agent, retirement pension and social grant payment; social insurance and household insurance fee collection, etc; communications and distribution services such as selling mobile cards and collecting mobile phone bill for Vinaphone, Mobifone, Viettel; An Vien television bill; consumer goods retail and distribution.
