The 1/500 detailed plan of Trang E Industrial Zone invested by Khatoco in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District has been approved by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. The 152.3ha project includes industrial zones namely Trang E 1, Trang E 2, Trang E 3; and a development reserve zone. Trang E 1 Industrial Zone is currently under technical infrastructure construction.

Khatoco has completed site compensation for 35.2ha at Trang E 1. The ground leveling is being sped up and expected to finish this October. The floodwater drainage work across the main way to the industrial zone has been completed, according to a report by Khatoco Company.  Phan Hoai Phuong, Deputy Director of Khatoco Company says the company will build surrounding walls, stone embankments against stream bank erosion, a floodwater drainage system on both sides of the main way to the industrial zone, water pipes southern of the project and trees around the project by this year’s end.

In early 2017, the company will begin road work and water supply and drainage system. Besides, trees will be planted along internal ways. After electricity supply and waste water treatment work, Khatoco expects to put Trang E 1 Industrial Zone, around 18ha, into service in the middle of 2017.

In a recent meeting, Tran Son Hai requested Khatoco to work with Khanh Hoa Power Company and Khanh Hoa Water Supply & Sewerage Company to assure sufficient electricity and water supply for the newly-built industrial zone. Reportedly, Suoi Dau Water Plant is under construction in the 1st stage with a capacity of 30,000m3/ day and night and expected to be complete by the end of 2016 and provide sufficient water for the industrial zone.

Reportedly, Khanh Hoa Power Company is scheduled to invest VND6 billion to upgrade its Binh Tan Station to meet the electricity demand of the industrial zone. After Trang E 1 Industrial Zone is put into operation, Khanh Viet Corporation plans to move its tobacco plant in Binh Tan, Nha Trang City, to the industrial zone, according to Khanh Viet Corporation.

Khanh Hoa Department of Industry & Trade has received some 20 applications for land rental in industrial zones. However, presently, Dien Phu and Dac Loc industrial zones have been fully filled while the construction of Trang E and Song Cau industrial zones has not been completed, according to Le Hoang Tho, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry & Trade.

When the tobacco plant is moved into Trang E 1 Industrial Zone, careful consideration must be taken to choose a suitable location without influencing nearby factories. Besides, plot division and zone planning are required to suit specific sectors to attract investment. Land rental price also needs careful calculation to appeal secondary investors into the industrial zone, according to Tran Son Hai’s instruction.
