Every year, Khanh Hoa Children’s House organizes the Moon Festival at care and education centers for disabled children and charity houses in Khanh Hoa Province.

Kids were so excited to join the 2016 event which included a tour of Nha Trang City and a party at Au Lac Thinh Conference Hall. They also enjoyed musical show and unicorn dance performed by Tho Phuoc Duong Unicorn Dance and received presents at Khanh Hoa Children’s House.

“I have never seen such a joyful activity. I have a chance to enjoy exciting unicorn dance and play fun games with many friends from other places,” happily says Nguyen Quang Dang, SOS Nha Trang Children’s Village.

Nguyen Phuong Doanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Children’s House says, “Khanh Hoa Children’s House held the Moon Festival at a total cost of about VND300 million for nearly 1,000 orphans and disabled kids.” Besides cakes, candies and fun games, kids were offered gifts funded by many sponsors named Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company, Au Lac Thinh Company, Bibica Company, etc. The companies together with Khanh Hoa Children’s House organized a warm festivity for kids.


In Van Ninh District, nearly 2,000 children also took part in the Moon Festival. Van Ninh District Youth Union and Children’s House held a lantern contest for 6 primary and junior high schools in Van Gia Town. The children joined a lantern procession and enjoyed moon cakes and candies in a cheerful atmosphere.
 

Van Ninh District Youth Union celebrated the Moon Festival with music show for children and residents  in Van Gia Town and Van Phu Commune. In addition, there was full moon celebration for Youth Union members and young pioneers in the district, according to Nguyen Huu Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Van Ninh District Youth union, Director of Van Ninh District Children’s House.
 

At Cam Lam District Children’s House, more than 500 kids enjoyed unicorn dance and lantern decoration on the occasion of the 2016 Moon Festival. 92 scholarships were awarded to disadvantaged students in Cam Lam at the event.
 

The “Childhood moon” night was held by Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union in Ninh Tan Commune, Ninh Hoa Town. Children took part in a lantern procession and enjoyed unicorn dance. “15 scholarships were offered to needy students,” says Pham Cuong Quoc, Secretary of Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union.
 

Moon festival celebration for kids has become an annual activity of the local Youth Union for many years. Khanh Hoa Youth Union has directed its affiliations and school Youth Unions to organize the event with many interesting activities such as musical performance, unicorn dance, lantern procession and gift offer for needy and ethnic minority children, according to Nguyen Van Nhuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union.
 

Children’s houses, Youth Unions together with many individuals and groups in Khanh Hoa Province have joined effort to bring a warm Moon Festival to all children.
