17,200 water storage tanks for residents in 6 provinces

A conference to review the project on emergency aid against drought and saltwater intrusion implemented by Vietnam Red Cross in association with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) took place in Nha Trang City on October 10. The project was implemented from June to September 2016 at a total capital of over VND11 billion. 6 provinces benefiting from the project included Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Ninh Thuan, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh.


After 3 months of implementation, the project funded 15,000 20l-water storage bottles, 2,254 water storage tanks, 87,500 bars of soap and 12 saltwater filter machines for families stricken by drought and saltwater intrusion. The project was carried out in Phuoc Dong, Vinh Luong and Vinh Nguyen (Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province) at a total cost of VND1.7 billion.
