Over the past years, Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children has fulfilled both education and health care tasks.

Every year, medical staff of Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children pay visits to many communities in Khanh Hoa to give periodical check-ups to disabled children and bring them to the center for treatment and management.
The center has also cooperated with medical institutions to send children with disabilities for orthopedic surgery and provide them with disability aids for physical activity and exercise at home. Besides, the center staff have maintained activities of 3 clubs for the disabled in Dien Phu Commune (Dien Khanh District), Ninh Phung Commune (Ninh Hoa Town) and Hearing Impairments Bien Xanh (Nha Trang City); and remained a non-interest loan offer program for members. In addition, physiotherapy has been provided for hundreds of children with mobility difficulty, according to Dr. Phan van Hiep, Secretary of the Party cell and Director of Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children.
In 2015-2016 school year, the center received 136 children, including 36 with hearing impairments and the rest with mental retardation. Apart from academic teaching and skill practice, extracurricular activities and vocational classes were held such as making chiffon flowers, greeting cards, painting, etc. 107 students, accounting for 79%, were commended and awarded; and 98% of primary school-aged children met required education standard. Besides professional achievements, the center staff mobilized charity organizations at home and abroad to sponsor schooling and healthcare of children at the center and in communities.
In 2015 alone, over VND766 million was raised from charity organizations and benefactors to fund food for nearly 100 children, orthopedic surgery on 17 cases; and artificial legs and facilities for 46 kids. In the first 6 months of the year 2016, the center gave nearly 3,000 medical check-ups and 184 kids were discovered with disability; provided physiotherapy for 900 kids and orthopedics tools for 22 children. Moreover, the center cooperated with Qui Nhon Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Hospital and SAP-VN to perform orthopedic surgery on 22 kids, attend and teach 150 disabled children.
The center has been awarded certificates of merit by the Ministry of Health, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee and Khanh Hoa Department of Health for many successive years. In 2015, the center was commended by the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Department of Health on the implementation of the Politburo's Instruction 03 on promoting the studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's moral example, period 2011-2015. Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children has well promoted principles of democratic centralism, solidarity and unity in the Party, according to Bui Xuan Minh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Health.
