Internship plays an important role in training, providing students with opportunities to apply what they have learnt at school into reality as well as get familiar with work environments. Students may contact businesses themselves or they can be introduced by their professors to businesses for their internship. The university periodically holds internship programs for students to get them well prepared for their future work, says Associate Professor - PhD Trang Si Trung, Principal of Nha Trang University.

Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company has created internship opportunities for students as well as work placement for excellent students, according to Dinh Viet Thuan, Deputy General Director of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company.

Reportedly, Nha Trang University has developed some collaboration programs with businesses and agencies such as Long Sinh Company, Asia Corporation, Hai Tien Company and Vietnam Food Company to create better internship environments.

Accordingly, the businesses have built practice and internship curricula, offered work placement opportunities or grants to students to partly cover their expense during internship. In return, the university has also cooperated in technological transfer and product commercialization; invited some experts from businesses to join building curricula and teaching some thematic reality subjects.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Education & Training, Nha Trang University will develop some profession oriented higher education (POHE) programs Accordingly, there will be close link between the university and businesses, creating opportunities for learners to build work skills which meet employers’ requirement. The university is building a business relation unit to boost the cooperation.

At a recent meeting with agencies concerned, provincial leaders have requested some relevant departments and agencies, including Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, Khatoco and Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board to support Nha Trang University students’ internship. It is a favorable condition for cooperation boost between the university and businesses, based on mutual benefits. Businesses provide opportunities for students to get access to actual work and in return the university transfers updated knowledge to business experts.
