Nha Trang University (NTU) held a ceremony to celebrate its 57th anniversary (October 2, 1959-2016) and open a new school year 2016-2017 on October 1. Present at the event was Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.

After 57 years of construction and development, NTU, formerly the Fisheries Faculty of the Institute of Agriculture & Forestry (presently Vietnam Institute of Agriculture), has gained great achievements and expanded its training with 5 PhD, 12 MA, 30 four-year undergraduate and 15 three-year undergraduate programs so far. At present, there are more than 15,000 students and 471 staff, including 110 PhDs and 334 MAs. In the 2016 – 2017, the university has nearly 3,000 freshmen.
At the ceremony, 4 groups and 3 individuals were granted certificates of merit by Vietnam Education Trade Union; 2 groups were granted certificates of merit by Khanh Hoa Department of Public Security for achievements in the “All people protect the national security” campaign.
Besides, the university awarded 3 groups, 3 individuals for their great contribution; 172 excellent students in the 2015-2016 school year and 4 top-graders in the university admission. Dong A Company donated VND20 million to the university scholarship fund.
