Frequent patrol has been assured to deal with any emergencies at Ca Pass, Van Ninh District; Nha Trang  Station, Luong Son (Nha Trang City), Cay Cay, Hoa Tan (Cam Ranh City); Suoi Cat-Nga Ba (Cam Lam District), etc, says Nguyen Ngoc Duc, Deputy Chief of the Technique Office, Phu Khanh Railway Joint Stock Company.

Specific rail track consolidation plans have been made in critical sections. Apart from many railroad tunnels, 12km Ca Pass running from Dong Hoa District, Phu Yen to Van Ninh District, has a challenging terrain which is prone to landslide and cliff collapse in heavy rain.

Therefore, since the start of the third quarter, Ca Pass Railway team has boosted dredging ditches and culverts to prevent flooding in the area together with landslide mitigation and infrastructure maintenance. Specialized vehicles have been used to frequently check railroads and tunnels to quickly and efficiently deal with regional landslide and cliff collapse to assure traffic safety. Excavators and bulldozers have been put on coaches to deal with any emergencies related to flooding.

Smooth and safe traffic has been maintained on the section running through Nha Trang City. Frequent patrols have been made in critical locations identified as likely to be flooded  such as Nha Trang Station, Northwest Vinh Hai and Luong Son to keep train schedules in the rainy season, according to Do Viet Chuong, Head of Nha Trang Railway Management Team.

Moreover, flood control subcommittee in railway management zones have contacted with the nearest suppliers of building materials and machinery to support railroad repair and maintenance. Phu Khanh Railway Company has suggested Vietnam Railway Corporation and Saigon Railway Transport Operation Office would arrange a train with 10 vehicles carrying rubble and crushed stones together with sufficient construction materials and equipment such as rubble stones,  gabions, iron, steel beams, wooden sleepers, culverts, etc stored  in warehouses and in sections along Ca Pass, Ninh Hoa, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, etc. Functional offices of the company have checked and made such vehicles as trucks, railcars and all kinds of construction machinery available for use when needed.
