Three Chinese naval vessels, including Xiang Tan, Zhou Shan and Chao carrying 749 officers and crew led by Colonel Wang Hong Li, Deputy Chief-of-Staff of the Donghai Fleet, are calling at Cam Ranh International Port of Vietnam on October 22-26, on their way back home from a mission in the Gulf of Aden.

This is Chinese naval vessels’ first visit to Cam Ranh International Port. The event is part of the annual defense delegation exchange between the two Defense Ministries of Vietnam and China, contributing to strengthening the political trust and promoting the recent positive development trend of the relation between Vietnam and China.
 
The four-day visit includes Chinese naval troops’ courtesy visits to leaders of Khanh Hoa Province and the Vietnam Naval Command, tour of the Naval Academy, gift offer to students at Cam Thanh Nam Primary School and sport exchange with troops of the Vietnam's Naval Region 4.
 
Cam Ranh International Port was inaugurated on March 8, 2016, serving national defense, economic development; international military and tourist vessel reception; and maritime logistic services. Since its operation, the port has received many warships from foreign countries such as Russia, India, the U.S.A, Japan, etc.
