The Australian Navy’s warship HMAS Warramunga commanded by Captain Dugald Clelland, Royal Australian Navy, carrying 25 officers and 155 crew, called at Cam Ranh International Port on November 2.

The 3-day visit aims at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their navies. The visit includes Australian captain and crew’s courtesy visits to leaders of Vietnam's Naval Region 4, sport exchange with Vietnam's Naval troops and sightseeing tours in Khanh Hoa.
 
The HMAS Warramunga is an Anzac Class frigate, capable of air defense, surface and undersea warfare, surveillance, reconnaissance and interdiction. It has a displacement of 3,720 tons and measures 118 meters long. The ship's main armament comprises Evolved Sea Sparrow point defense missile, harpoon missiles Block 2, Mk 45 127mm torpedoes and 6 Mk32 torpedo tubes.
 
The ship can embark multi-role MH-60R Seahawk helicopter and reach the speed of 27 nautical miles per hour.
