On November 28, Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman; together with relevant departments and agencies had a working session with the World Bank’s mission on the assessment of the Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment Project (CCSEP), Nha Trang City sub-project.


The mission made an assessment of Nha Trang City sub-project on November 25-27 and suggested that Khanh Hoa should complete necessary procedures soon for the project negotiation scheduled in January 2017. According to the memorandum, CCSEP is expected to be developed for 5 years and 6 months in the 4 cities of Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) and Phan Rang – Thap Cham (Ninh Thuan).


The total cost of the project is estimated at USD273 million, of which USD72 million, including USD11 million from Khanh Hoa provincial reciprocal capital, is for the Nha Trang City sub-project. The project contains 4 components namely sanitation infrastructure; urban connectivity, site clearance and compensation; technical assistance and institutional reform.
 

Speaking at the working session, Le Duc Vinh agreed to the memorandum draft content, listened to a report on difficulties and shortcomings; and directed relevant agencies and departments to speed up procedures for the upcoming negotiation. He also pledged to ensure Khanh Hoa’s reciprocal capital after the aid agreement is signed.
