Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee together with representatives of local agencies and departments had a working session on November 11 with a Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung on the hosting of the APEC First Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM 1) 2017 in Nha Trang City.
SOM 1 is scheduled to take place in Nha Trang City from February 18 to March 3, 2017 and include more than 80 meetings with a participation of about 2,500 representatives and international reporters.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested Khanh Hoa Province to have good preparation for infrastructures, security and medical service before, during and after the SOM 1; local residents’ cultural behaviors and civic culture; competent human resources, volunteers and service staff with foreign language skills.
Speaking at the working session, Nguyen Duy Bac said Khanh Hoa People’s Committee would found a provincial steering board for organizing the APEC Senior Officials' Meeting and requested the secretariat of the National Committee APEC 2017 to send a detailed program of the meeting to Khanh Hoa People’s Committee soon to facilitate making plans on infrastructures, medical care, security and accommodation for the event.
