Investment boost

2 underground restrooms located opposite Khanh Hoa Radio & Television Station and Sunrise Hotel on Nha Trang beach park are being constructed. 2 underground restrooms built on Nha Trang Beach Park in 2014 have shown useful and efficient, so the city continues to invest in 2 more public restrooms, each with an area of 80m2, 1.05 high and 2m underneath the Beach Park. Besides the restrooms, there are freshwater showers, serving 20 people at the same time.

The construction is being sped up to be put into use before the Lunar New Year holiday. The total investment in the two restrooms is more than VND3.3 billion funded by the city budget. The aesthetically designed public works are expected to add conveniences to revelers on the beach, says Nguyen Thanh Van, Vice-Director of Nha Trang Management Board of Construction Projects, the investor of the underground restrooms.

In addition, Nha Trang City has invested the beach chair and umbrella rental in purchasing 144 exercise machines along the beach on Tran Phu Street and Pham Van Dong Street. 2 automatic drinking water systems and 22 exercise machines are sponsored by a business. Other facilities are worth VND910 million.

“The drinking water and exercise machines are all free for use. A wide variety of exercise machines suiting all ages are available for you to choose from,” according to Ngo Khac Thinh, Deputy Chief of Nha Trang City Urban Management Office.

“The public restroom are regularly tidied up, so they are clean and hygienic. After swimming, tourists can take a freshwater shower and change clothes instead of getting on taxi in wet suits,” says Tran Van Ngoc, a local who often does morning exercise on the beach park.

Towards satisfaction

Nha Trang City plans to replace old restrooms with modern underground ones located in places frequented by large numbers of locals and tourists. Nha Trang City Urban Management Office will continue using the beach rental to invest in more physical exercise and sport facilities, etc to better meet revelers and vacationers’ needs.

It is important to use the public works efficiently. Therefore, users are required to utilize the public facilities appropriately and protect them for long time use. The underground restrooms are kept by attendants from Nha Trang Urban Environment Company.

Together with the public facilities, Nha Trang City has invested in more loudspeakers and lifeguard towers, contributing to assuring safety and adding comfort and convenience for both locals and visitors, according to Nguyen Sy Khanh, Vice-Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee.
