On November 22, Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman, received Mary Tarnowka, U.S Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City. This was the U.S Consul General’s first trip to Khanh Hoa Province.

Le Duc Vinh introduced about provincial outstanding achievements and potentials in socio-economic and tourism development, and foreign investment appeal. In the first 9 months of 2016, the U.S.A was the leading market in fishery, textile, apparel and cashew import. Since the beginning of the year, U.S visitors to Khanh Hoa have reached 23,000. The province has received much assistance in medical care, social support and education from 15 non-governmental organizations.
Mary Tarnowka thanked for the warm welcome given by provincial leaders, adding that she was impressed by the natural beauty as well as the fishery resource preservation in Khanh Hoa. 12 Vietnamese Americans are currently investing in Khanh Hoa. The U.S Ambassador to Vietnam is providing support for Khanh Hoa to build a center of natural disaster relief and prevention in Nha Trang City. A survey has been conducted for the Pacific Partnership –PP to take place in Khanh Hoa in 2017.
She hoped to receive support from Khanh Hoa to organize the event and develop U.S investment and cooperation relation in Khanh Hoa in a variety of sectors, particularly education, health care and aviation.
Le Duc Vinh expressed his hope for more concern from Mary Tarnowka in support, cooperation and information exchange, especially in promoting Khanh Hoa destination to U.S investors and affirmed that Khanh Hoa Province would provide the most favorable conditions for the coming Pacific Partnership in Khanh Hoa.
