More than 700 students at Navy Academy and Youth Union members in Khanh Hoa Province joined the 2017 9th voluntary blood donation “Red Sunday”.

The event was held by Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation in association with Tien Phong Newspaper, Navy Academy and Khanh Hoa Youth Union on December 24. After the launching ceremony, students and Youth Union members donated over 650 units of blood.
The blood donation campaign was initiated in Hanoi by Tien Phong Newspaper in 2009. The event has been held nine times, collecting hundred of donated units of blood for emergency and medical use during the Lunar New Year. 22 cities and provinces have taken part in the “Red Sunday” with 22,455 units of blood donated in 2016.
This event is scheduled to be held in 40 locations in 25 provinces and cities nationwide on January 8 and 25,000 units of blood are expected to be given. This is the 3rd time the event has taken place in Khanh Hoa with 1,500 units of blood donated over the 3 blood donation drives.
