On December 5, Tran Son Hai, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee received the mission of PF-16 BRP Ramon Alcaraz, a warship of the Philippines Navy, led by Commodore Robert A. Mogol, Navy Quick Response Force Commander.

Tran Son Hai introduced about socio-economic highlights in Khanh Hoa. Over the past years, the Philippines has also had some cooperation programs with Vietnam, including Khanh Hoa. In the first 10 months of 2016, Khanh Hoa’s exports to the Philippines reached USD3.5 million in turnover, mainly in such products as seafood, coffee and tobacco. Imports reached more than USD 1.5 million in turnover, mainly in production materials. In 2015, Khanh Hoa tourism received over 3,000 tourist arrivals from the Philippines.
 

Commodore Robert A. Mogol thanked for the warm welcome given by Vietnam in general and Khanh Hoa in particular; and highly appreciated socio-economic achievements in Khanh Hoa. He also mentioned the development of the relationship between Vietnam and the Philippines and added that after the trip, the crew could understand more about the tradition, history, culture and people in Vietnam and Khanh Hoa.


On the same day, the PF-16 BRP Ramon Alcaraz carrying 126 crew anchored at Cam Ranh International Port, starting its four-day visit to Vietnam. Reportedly, PF-16 BRP Ramon Alcaraz is considered as one of the two biggest warships of the Philippines Navy.


The trip includes crew’s visit to officials and soldiers at Vietnam's Naval Region 4; joint humanitarian assistance; search and rescue rehearsal with Vietnam's Navy.
