Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has just assigned the Institute for Urban & Rural Planning to complete the design for the urban landscape and main route in Nha Trang Urban Trade, Service, Finance & Tourism Center (located in former Nha Trang Airport). Provincial leaders expect the route to have impressive modern features adding great attraction to Nha Trang beach city.

1/2,000 scale detailed planning of the main route in Nha Trang Urban Trade, Service, Finance & Tourism Center.

The main route includes 5 main axes, namely water, light, colors, culture and education. A financial square containing a trade center, financial offices and a financial transaction floor is expected to be a symbol of Nha Trang economics in the global economic integration process. Other areas are for street art shows, traditional and conventional. Outdoor cafeterias will be a great place for local residents and tourists to come get a glimpse of the glamour and relaxation. The musical fountains will be the highlight in the ocean square with mysterious glistening lights. A nearby exhibition will display historical values, mainly with the collection of old planes at former Nha Trang Airport, according to Ngo Trung Hai, Director of the National Institute for Urban & Rural Planning.

The main route is to feature green space and colorful pavements. Other details such as fountains, benches, dustbins, etc are beautifully designed to create a charming, gentle and friendly welcome. Trade and service areas; sea-view cafeterias and villas will be in color, height and architecture harmonies.

“This complex is special with public service works for relaxation, amusement and trade. The area can be also built into an international standard pedestrian zone when needed,” says Hai. There must be a harmony between the architecture & scenery. Construction density, height, etc need specifying to facilitate construction management, according to Architect Phan Van Dang, Director of Khanh Hoa Construction & Architecture Consultancy Company. “Architecture design, including height, colors, etc must be more specified,” says Nguyen Thi My Trang, Vice-Head of Nha Trang City Urban Management Office.

The National Institute for Urban & Rural Planning is required to design a square where provincial big events can be held to replace the existing 2-4 Square and create a spectacular highlight on this route. This is a historic chance to build a modern street in Nha Trang City. The construction site is vacant, so no site clearance is required and it is convenient for shaping designs. The National Institute for Urban & Rural Planning is required to create a modern and friendly space with a pedestrian area, focusing on scenery and public works. Other details such as dustbins, sidewalk benches, lanes for the disabled, etc must be also taken into consideration, directs Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman.

The main route in the center zone is 66m wide and over 2.5km long, connecting Tran Phu Street (the section at Thanh Nien Park) to Le Hong Phong Street (opposite Dong Muoi Area). The BT project is invested by Phuc Son Group.
