In the framework of APEC 2017 SOM1 and related meetings, on February 20, more than APEC delegates attended activities of 8 working groups and sub-committees namely Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG) Meeting, Anti-Corruption and Transparency Working Group (ACTWG) Meeting; Business Mobility Group (BMG), Life Sciences Innovation Forum (LSIF), Experts Group on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade (EGILAT); Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformances (SCSC) Meeting; Competition Policy and Law Group (CPLG); and Sub-Committee on Customs Procedures (SCCP).

ACTWG and BMG have finished their first meetings of 2017 with consensus on action plans and priorities for 2017. Delegates expressed commitment to further promoting cooperation in line with Vietnam APEC Year 2017 priorities, contributing to the common goals of trade and investment liberalization and economic growth in the region. The meetings also reviewed the implementation of multi-year programs such as the Beijing Declaration on Fighting Corruption and the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC), etc.
The SCSC focused on reviewing the implementation of the collective action plan on trade facilitation as well as discussed initiatives and projects in alignment with international standards, technical infrastructure development, food safety and standards and conformance in education and so on. Meanwhile, HRDWG delegates discussed on the group 2017 work plan and strategy; reviewed its activities last year, and consented to forward the preparation for the 2017 High-Level Policy Dialogue on Human Resource Development in the Digital Age scheduled to take place in Hanoi in May.
Today, Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) delegates have visited the Institute of Oceanography and Ponagar Temples.
