SOM 1 and Related Meetings continued on February 26 with 2 plenary meetings of Committee of Trade and Investment (CTI) and Budget Management Committee (BMC) together with 6 meetings of other APEC committees and fora, namely Economic Committee (EC), Food Security (PPFS), Ocean and Fisheries (OFWG), Competition Policy and Law (CPLG), Friends of the Chair (FotC) on the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) and Trade Facilitation (TF).

In his opening speech, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, APEC 2017 SOM Chair Bui Thanh Son stressed that APEC is at the critical stage of accelerating its efforts to achieve Bogor goals by 2020 and APEC 2017 represents a major step forward. He also honored the APEC committees’ contribution to the achievement.
