Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union affiliations organized several practical activities such as inaugurating a “green, clean, beautiful and safe” road, lighting up rural roads, offering gifts to social welfare beneficiaries, cultivating trees to create ecological landscape, etc on March 25 and 26.

Offering gifts to social welfare beneficiaries and needy families on Bich Dam Island.
 
Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union held an inauguration and hand-over ceremony for rural lighting project in the villages of Trung Hiep 1 and Trung Hiep 2, Cam Hiep Bac Commune, Cam Lam District, on March 26. The project developed by Khanh Hoa Youth Union in association with Cam Lam Power Company from March 18 included 55 lights covering 2.2km of rural roads at total of VND60 million. “We are so happy and grateful to young volunteers for the lighting system which can help improve traffic safety and security, especially at night,” says a resident named Dinh Thi Truong, Trung Hiep 1 Village.
 
Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union in association with Cam Lam District Youth Union inaugurated a “Green, clean, beautiful and safe” route in Nguyen Trai Street, Cam Duc Town. 8 dustbins and 8 parterres were built; traffic safety posters were put up along 400m of the street; Terminalia catappa trees were cultivated to create landscape. More than 150 Youth Union members and young people in Cam Lam District joined clean-up effort in Cam Duc Town.
 
Nearly 40 Youth Union members and young people from Youth Union Branches of Khanh Hoa Party Agencies, Department of Statistics and Me Trang Coffee Company in cooperation with Bich Dam Border Station’ Youth Union Branch offered 33 gifts to social welfare beneficiaries and needy families; and 2 gifts to Bich Dam Border Station and Hon Lon Lighthouse.
 
Besides, they cultivated many trees to create landscape around Bich Dam Border Station and joined clean-up on the beach. “This is our practical activity in order to help improve the life of residents on the island as well as raise Youth Union members and young people’s awareness of environmental protection,” says Huynh Thi Thuong Huyen, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Party Agencies’ Youth Union.
 
In response to the campaign towards the community, Dien Khanh District Youth Union organized Youth Union Member Day 2017 themed “Improving the Youth Union quality” and Young Doctors’ Day, following Uncle Ho’s Teaching for the community’s sake. Young physicians provided medical examination and medications free of charge for social welfare beneficiaries, needy families and old people; 60 gifts to the poor and 10 scholarships to disadvantaged students. The charity work was worth nearly VND20 million. “We also provided training on hand washing with soaps for pupils at Dien Lam Primary School to help them know how to wash their hands properly to protect their health,” says Le Thanh Van, Vice-Secretary of Dien Khanh District Youth Union.
 
Moreover, more than 300 Youth Union members and young people in Khanh Vinh District launched a traffic safety propaganda program. Khanh Son District Youth Union opened a meeting and a dialogue with Youth Union officials to find solutions to problems during the implementation of Youth Union tasks and honor 17 outstanding young people for following Uncle Ho’s Teaching. Traditional camp festivals were held by many Youth Union affiliations to create opportunities for young people to meet and socialize in a safe and sound environment.
 
Apart from the above programs, many Youth Union affiliations in Khanh Hoa held practical activities for the community’s sake to help those in need, contributing to confirming the Youth Union’s role in the provincial socio-economic development strategy, according to Nguyen Van Nhuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Youth Federation.
