The festival drew the attendance of over 100 people from organizations and centers for the disabled in Khanh Hoa Province. They included Cam Ranh City Association for the Blind, Ninh Hoa Town Association for the Blind, Nha Trang City Association for the Blind, Khanh Hoa Rehabilitation Education Center for Disabled Children, Ninh Hoa Town Social Service Center, Sao Mai Care & Education Center for Disabled Children (Nha Trang City), Hy Vong Orphanage (Cam Lam District) and Khanh Hoa Social Service Center.

Both kids and young adults felt excited at the event where they could share their interest in music as well as meet new people and make friends. Le Thi Thuy (Ninh Hoa Town Association for the Blind) prepared for her music performance for a long time. She listened to the song on the radio, wrote it down, using the Braille, and then learnt by heart. “I have joined the music show for many times and I always feel excited. The festival provides us an opportunity to meet others, share great musical moments and have fun,” says Le Thi Thuy.

Children from Hy Vong Orphanage practiced 2 songs for 2 months before the festival. Nun Nguyen Thi Huong,  Hy Vong Orphanage says, “I help the kids to practice for the festival every year. The musical event provides chances for the kids to gain skills and confidence and thus improve their health.”

The event included acting, playing musical instruments and singing the praise of the homeland, family, etc. Despite disabilities, the performers made great effort to practice and show their talents and interest with all their heart. This was an opportunity for them to meet new friends, keep active and develop confidence and life skills. The organizing board awarded 8 A prizes and 8 B prizes. The first team prize went to Ninh Hoa Town Association for the Blind.

"The musical event was so helpful for the disabled to improve the spiritual life. We will make joint effort to keep the annual event to help the disabled to build more confidence in life," says Dinh Van Dung, Head of the Social Service Bureau, Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
