Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation has just issued a plan to mark the 2017 Workers' Month with a variety of activities to protect workers’ interests and improve their material and spiritual life.
 
This year, the celebration of the Workers' Month is expected to be joined with the Action Month for Labor Safety & Hygiene to confirm the role and position of trade organizations as employees’ legal representative committed to assuring workers' legal rights; creating a more harmonious work relationship and environment, and favorable work conditions for laborers; attracting employees to join trade organizations; and raising employees’ awareness of the law on labor safety and hygiene. Many practical activities will be held towards the targets.
 
This is also an opportunity for trade organizations to follow the Resolution 20 on “Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class during the national industrialization and modernization’ period”; together with the Government to improve workers’ living standard and assure their rights related to employment, medical insurance, salaries, cultural activities, etc.
 
This year, Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation will honor 20 enterprises for the sake of Trade Union members and employees at the launching ceremony of the Workers' Month joined with the Action Month for Labor Safety & Hygiene. The enterprises have been known for their constant effort to protect employees’ rights; improve working conditions and living standards through work meals, preferential policies for workers, etc.
 
Besides, the Trade Union has held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony with 10 social welfare partners for Trade Union members. Under the agreement, workers will benefit from essential products and service at preferential prices from the enterprises and agencies in Khanh Hoa. In addition, Khanh Hoa Trade Union plans to offer a VND400 million house construction grant to 10 Trade Union members and workers in need and suffering from occupational accidents.
 
The Trade Union will also organize a contest on labor safety and hygiene, a peak month for founding Trade Union affiliations and developing Trade Union membership to mark Uncle Ho's birthday; Olympic Day Run for workers, a legal counseling day for workers at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, etc; expand the campaign “Trade Union is present anywhere workers are in need” to provide support for workers; accompany enterprises to tackle difficulties in production and business; assure workers’ employment conditions and rights; maintain sustainable and harmonious labor relationships; focus on vocational development for workers and so on.
 
The Trade Union at all levels is required to follow the plan and detailed instructions by Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation to promote the Workers’ Month efficiency for workers’ sake; adapt Workers’ Month celebration to the actual circumstance of each community and industry to draw the participation of Trade Union members and staff; mobilize enterprises to share difficulties with workers by increasing shift meal and travel allowances; honor employees with practical initiatives in technique, management, etc, says Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation.
