Amazing Race organized by Vinh Phuong Commune Youth Union, Nha Trang City has provided great summer activities, drawing the participation of nearly 100 tenth and eleventh-graders.
The Amazing Race had 2 rounds, namely knowledge (30 minutes) and challenge. The knowledge with 15 multiple choice questions and constructed questions was designed to test players’ logical thinking, response and memorization. Each team was composed of two people.
In the challenge event, players took part in such games as pulling tires, beating balloons, climbing ropes, etc. Other auxiliary activities included flying kites, making handmade items and planting trees on Bich Dam Island, Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City. The charity activities attracted the participation of many players.
Nguyen Tien Hung, Head of the Amazing Race Organization Board says, “I really like the reality television game show Amazing Race, so I want to organize a similar fun event for young people. Based on a version of the television game show Amazing Race on VTV3, the program was held for the first time in 2012 by the Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and some outstanding students.”
After several years, the program has drawn more and more participants. Especially, since 2016, the program has been open to all students in Nha Trang City. The event has helped develop players’ knowledge, physical health and teamwork and thus proved to be a rewarding activity in summer.

Le Hoang Thao Linh, a student of Le Quy Don Gifted High School, “This is the second time I have joined the event. The challenge in the last year’s game was really creative. All the events were to develop balanced mental and physical health. This year’s program inspired players’ retentiveness even more.” “This is my first time at the event. I’m happy to have new friends here and learn many interesting things. This has offered me great summer fun,” adds Vo Dinh Duy, a student of Nguyen Van Troi High School.
The Amazing Race has provided a sound and helpful playground for children and teenagers to enjoy themselves. Therefore, Youth Union organizations need to expand the event to give young people great summer fun as well as improve their knowledge and develop their health. The program has been highly appreciated by Nha Trang City Youth Union, helping to promote the solidarity of young people in the commune, high schools and other units in Nha Trang City. In the time to come, Nha Trang City Youth Union will cooperate in expanding the program to all of its affiliations in the city, according to Nguyen Chi Anh, a Vice-Secretary of Nha Trang City Youth Union.
