Foreign sailor having occupational accident at sea rescued

Vietnam Maritime Search & Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) has just rescued Cui Jisheng, an 18-year-old Chinese sailor injured in an occupational accident at sea, according to Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of Nha Trang MRCC.


On May 11, MRCC received a request for help from China’s Chang Hang Cheng Gong ship as its sailor, Cui Jisheng, had a serious occupational accident while the ship was 170 sea miles southeast Nha Trang coast on its route from Indian to Japan.


Vietnam MRCC then contacted the Chinese ship, gave the victim first aid and deployed the rescue ship SAR 27-01 to bring him to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for treatment. The Chinese sailor’s health is recovering.

kCui Jishen is brought to the mainland for treatment.
