In the first 6 months, Khanh Hoa Province received more than 2.6 million visitors, a 22% year-on-year increase. The figure is expected to rise higher in the last 6 months. Therefore, Khanh Hoa Power Company has made great effort to assure sufficient power supply during the peak period.
According to the company leader, in the first 6 months, the total power consumption in Khanh Hoa is 949.088 million kWh, an 8% year-on-year increase. The power consumption in the last 6 months is expected to rise higher, requiring measures taken to meet residents and tourists’ power consumption.
The company has implemented power supply plans since the beginning of the year. Accordingly, the company has cooperated with the Department of Industry & Trade to make a list of priority consumers to guarantee critical supply during an unplanned power cut in case of outage in 2017 to be submitted to Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee for approval.
Besides, the power supply management organization led by the Director-General of the company has been strengthened to increase the operation efficiency. The Director-General has just asked for postponing planned interruptions, except for emergency repairs. Swift operation and more supervision have been assured to meet scheduled progress, shorten interruptions and restore electricity supplies earlier. Human resource and materials have been boosted to prevent blackouts, etc.

Nguyen Cao Ky, Director-General of Khanh Hoa Power Company says since the beginning of June, the company has issued many documents on focusing human resources and facilities to fix regular blackouts, closely supervise 110kV transformers, etc. Subsidiary units have been required to get ready in terms of staff and equipment, to timely detect and repair electrical problems to assure sufficient and stable power supply. Stations generating more than 80% of capacity have been put under special supervision and overloads control plans have been implemented.
Moreover, the company has organized power saving propaganda activities in Khanh Hoa. In the first 6 months, the company held 3 parades along main streets in Nha Trang City and electricity-saving propaganda activities at 5 primary schools named Ngoc Hiep, Vinh Hoa, etc. Since late 2016, Khanh Hoa Power Company has applied advanced technologies in direct hotline repair, shortening interruptions, etc.
Besides, the company has installed efficient-power saving Amorphous core transformers which significantly reduce CO2 discharge, contributing to saving power, protecting the environment, meeting the market needs, especially in the tourism environment in Nha Trang City, according to Nguyen Cao Ky.
