In spite of difficulties, Youth Union organizations in the 2 districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh have made great effort to boost the education and care as development opportunities for young adults, teenagers and children.
Presently, nearly 1,800 Youth Union members and young people are joining 19 Youth Union affiliations in Khanh Son District. Bui Van Vinh, Secretary of Khanh Son District Youth Union says regular youth campaigns have remained thanks to the concern of the local authority at all levels, agencies and departments. Khanh Son District Youth Union has focused on guiding Youth Union affiliations to boost drawing young people of ethnic minority groups and religions to join such movements, namely “volunteering for eco-economic development and national defense”, “accompanying young people in business start-up”, etc.
Many outstanding young people recognized through the movements include Cao Van Duong in Son Lam Commune with a coffee tree cultivation model, Cao Van At in Son Binh Commune with a garden-pond-pigsty economic model, Bo Bo Ty in Son Trung Commune with a pigeon breeding model, etc, each bringing an income of VND80-150 million/ year.
Since 2012, Youth Union affiliations have undertaken 73 youth projects such as dredging canals, taking care of flower gardens; developed 43 youth constructions such as building houses for the poor, lighting up rural roads, concreting intervillage roads, etc at a total cost of over VND700 million. The district Youth Union has cooperated and called for the support of many social organizations inside and outside Khanh Hoa Province to develop volunteering youth campaigns to help improve local residents’ living standards as well as promote socio-economic growth of the district.
Presently, Khanh Vinh District has nearly 2,300 Youth Union members and young people joining 30 Youth Union affiliations. Khanh Vinh District Youth Union has made great effort to overcome difficulties to maintain regular Youth Union activities. Many meaningful youth projects and constructions developed in the Youth Month and Summer Volunteer Campaign include lighting up 9km rural roads at a total cost of over VND120 million, clean-up days, free medical examination for 200 arrivals/ drive; and vocational training for more than 1,300 young people. Annually, vocational consulting propaganda and job recommendation sessions have been held, providing consulting for more than 1,500 young people and employment opportunities for nearly 850.

Besides volunteering activities, Khanh Vinh District Youth Union has focused on educational activities and programs designed to provide a sound playground for young people to enrich social and cultural life and improve health through sports activities. Since 2012, the district has held more than 150 sports tournaments with the participation of nearly 5,000 Youth Union members and young people. Khanh Vinh District Youth Union will continue effort to boost education, vocational training with job recommendation for young people, particularly of ethnic minority groups, religions, etc, contributing to promoting solidarity among young people, says Cao Thi Ngoc Thanh, Secretary of Khanh Vinh District Youth Union.
