The National Steering Board For Flood Control, Natural Disaster Relief & Rescue, on behalf of the Vietnam Government, received the goods at Cam Ranh International Airport to distribute to typhoon-hit residents in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh. On behalf of the local government and people in the 4 provinces, Nguyen Duy Bac thanked leaders, the governments and people of ASEAN nations for the assistance to help surmount the natural disaster consequences.

It was the second time this year ASEAN had supported disaster-hit regions in Vietnam. The first support was for victims of flash floods and landslides in northern mountainous area in August, 2017.
