Khanh Hoa Newspaper in association with LOTTE Mart offered 400 gifts to residents suffering from heavy damages caused by Typhoon Damrey in Van Phu Commune, Van Ninh District and Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District on November 25.
In the morning, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and LOTTTE Mart paid a visit and offered 200 gifts, including such necessities as rice, noodles, instant noodles, sweetened condensed milk, cereal, cooking oil, sugar, charging lamp, etc worth VND500,000 to residents in Van Phu Commune.
The typhoon left massive destruction to Van Phu Commune, damaged 100% of houses, destroyed 51 and blew roofs, 50-70%, off 97 houses. Besides, there was heavy damage to 60ha of rice and 600ha of perennial trees and other crops. The local residents’ life has been heavily affected due to the typhoon. The charity visit with gifts offered has helped alleviate local sufferings and difficulties caused by the typhoon, according to Van Phu Commune leader.
In the afternoon, 200 relief gifts, including necessities worth VND500,000 each continued to be handed over to ethnic minority people heavily affected by the typhoon in Suoi Lau, Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District.
Reportedly, besides Van Phu Commune and Suoi Cat Commune, on November 26, LOTTE Mart together with Phu Yen Newspaper paid a visit and offered gifts to 200 heavily affected residents in An Hiep Commune, Tuy An District and Xuan Phuoc Commune, Dong Xuan District.
The charity program held by LOTTE Mart in association with Khanh Hoa Newspaper and gifts donated by Phu Yen Newspaper were worth VND300 million.
