On November 11, a journalist named Duc Hien, Ho Chi Minh City Phap Luat (Laws) Newspaper in cooperation with Khanh Hoa Newspaper donates relief to residents in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province.
Apart from VND2 million each given to dead victims’ families, 150 gifts worth VND500,000 each were offered to residents severely hit by Typhoon Damrey. Besides, the delegation offered VND5 million each to 4 schools, including 1 high school, 2 primary and 1 nursery schools in the commune and the commune People’s Committee. The total assistance was worth VND110 million.
Suoi Cat was among the worst-hit communities with 40 houses destroyed, 659 with roofs blown off completely and 459 with roofs blown off partly (75%). The typhoon caused massive damage to 755ha of banana, 120ha of mango, 530ha of Acacia, 55ha of fruit trees, 20ha of vegetables, etc.
