Khanh Hoa Province on alert for Tropical Storm Damrey

At 7 pm, November 2, Tropical Storm Damrey is at level 9, 680km apart from the coast of Khanh Hoa Province and Ninh Thuan Province. It is moving at 20 km per hour to  the southern central provinces.

At 7 pm, November 2, Tropical Storm Damrey is at level 9, 680km apart from the coast of Khanh Hoa Province and Ninh Thuan Province. It is moving at 20 km per hour to  the southern central provinces.
 
The storm is forecast to become level 11 -12 at 7pm on November 3, only 210 km apart from the coast of Khanh Hoa Province and Ninh Thuan Province. 
 
The storm circulation will affect a vast area. From the afternoon of November 3, heavy rains will occur in provinces from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan (including Khanh Hoa Province).
 
Tropical Storm Damrey is forecast to reach level 13 – 14 and come ashore on Saturday. It will threaten the provinces with flooding, mudslides and damaging winds.
 

 

 
As the storm is forecast to go into Khanh Hoa Province, the authority and all departments are making preparations to cope with the storm to limit damages.
 
To keep safety for tourists, the provincial Department of Tourism and the provincial Border Defense Force have directed tourism businesses, hotels and resorts in the province to have plans to cope with the storm and flooding as well as carry out measures to keep safety for tourists who are staying in the province. 
 
The provincial Department of Education and Training has informed that all schools in the province will be closed from November 3 to 5.
 
KTV and other press agencies continuously update information about the storm. People in Khanh Hoa Province are warned about the danger of the storm as well as its consequences.
