Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training held a ceremony on November 17 to mark the 35th Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982-2017). Present at the event were Le Thanh Quang, Central Party Committee Member, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Secretary; Phan Thong, Vice-Chairman of Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council; and Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; and Ho Van Mung, Head of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Propaganda & Training.
 
 At the event, the representatives reviewed the traditional Vietnamese Teachers’ Day; honored generations of teachers’ contribution to the local education and evaluated achievements in education and training in Khanh Hoa. Over the past years, the training size and school network have developed, especially in remote and mountainous areas; and ethnic minority communities. The education in Truong Sa Island District has continued developing.

The nursery (5-year-olds), primary and junior high school compulsory education has remained. 216/533 schools in Khanh Hoa have met the national standard. In the 2016-2017 school year, the high school graduation rate reached 96.4% with 66.65% getting the university entrance basis points or higher.
 
Le Thanh Quang appreciated the effort and achievements in education and requested for more effort in repairing the damages caused by the typhoon; reviewing the education and training system development planning, period 2012 – 2020, vision by 2025; improving teaching staff’s living standards; and innovating and improving educational management.
 
The Ministry of Education & Training granted commemorative medals “For the cause of education” to 315 individuals; presented excellent emulation flags to 5 groups and certificates of merit to 5 groups, 18 teaching staff and 5 students.
 
On this occasion, Khanh Hoa education Department raised a subscription to help typhoon victims in Khanh Hoa Province with the first-day donation reaching VND53 million.
