Cam Ranh City Red Cross has held a wide variety of practical activities to help many people in adversity to overcome difficulties in life.
 
Vu Nam Khanh, in class 9/5 at Le Hong Phong Junior High School is from a poor family. His father died young, leaving her mother behind with the burden of taking care of 2 children. With his mother’s little income from collecting scrap metal, his family finds it hard to make ends meet. Therefore, Cam Ranh Red Cross has provided financial support as scholarships for Vu Nam Khanh and Cam Loc Ward Red Cross, Le Hong Phong Junior High School Red Cross have decided to sponsor the two siblings. On national holidays and at the start of new school years, they are given new books, notebooks, clothes, gifts and VND500,000 cash each. “The support has inspired us to greater efforts in study,” says Vu Nam Khanh.
 
“My mom is sick and my dad has an unstable job. I’m so happy to receive the study grant from the Red Cross. This support has encouraged me to overcome my difficult circumstance and try harder in study,” says another  beneficiary named Nguyen Ngoc Thao Vy, Class 9/4 at Le Hong Phong Junior High School.
Huynh Thi Huu Nhan, Quarter Thuan Hai, Cam Thuan Ward could not forget the great joy when receiving a new house the construction of which was funded by the Red Crosses of Cam Ranh City, Cam Thuan Ward and Phuoc Long Pagoda in 2017. Her old deteriorated house is not safe enough, especially in heavy rain or strong winds. She is often sick and her husband makes a living by selling lottery tickets. They can’t afford rebuilding the house. “We feel touched and so happy to live in a new safe house. From now on, we are no longer worried when winter comes,” says Huynh Thi Huu Nhan.

These are among charity activities held by the city Red Cross at all levels. Thousands of needy families have been offered gifts, grants, free medical check-up and medications worth billons of dongs. Besides, Cam Ranh Red Cross has mobilized individuals and organizations to donate nearly VND100 million to help typhoon-hit residents. 
 
Over the past 5 years, Cam Ranh City Red Cross has mobilized more than VND21 billion such for Agent Orange victims and the poor. The Red Cross has funded the construction of nearly 90 houses for the poor and provided support for nearly 3,000 people. Many other charity programs such as cow bank, charity kitchen have proved effective, according to Bui Thi Luong, Vice-Chairman of Cam Ranh City Red Cross.
