VND27.7b typhoon relief raised from international organizations

Vietnam Red Cross delegation led by Chairperson Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu offered more than VND27.7 billion to Typhoon Damrey-stricken Khanh Hoa Province..

Vietnam Red Cross delegation led by Chairperson Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu offered more than VND27.7 billion to Typhoon Damrey-stricken Khanh Hoa Province on December 11. Le Duc Vinh, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee Chairman received the aid on behalf of provincial leaders.

The assistance was raised from international organizations, namely Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, United Nations Development Program, United States Agency for International Development, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Over 8,500 families severely affected by the typhoon are expected to receive the aid, including cash and vouchers for buying necessities and materials for house repair; livelihood support for production development.

 

 

kKhanh Hoa People’s Committee Chairman Le Duc Vinh receives the aid from Vietnam Red Cross.



Earlier, Vietnam Red Cross had donated VND450 million in support of typhoon victims in Khanh Hoa, given 300 water filters and 2 cartons of  water purification tablets to deal with water pollution risk after the typhoon.
