A marine environmental protection contest was held at Yersin Junior High School, Nha Trang City on January 21 by Nha Trang Bay Management Board in association with the Executive Board of the Project on Developing sustainable livelihood based on Mo seaweed for fishermen living on the bank of Nha Trang Bay to strengthen biodiversity conservation of the buffer zone of marine protected area of Nha Trang Bay.
The event themed “Climate change and biodiversity and marine environmental protection in Nha Trang Bay” drew the participation of students from junior high schools named Ly Thuong Kiet, Nguyen Khuyen, Ly Thai To and Yersin in coastal areas in Nha Trang City. 4 participating teams were judged in 3 categories, namely greeting, knowledge and talent (acting, public speaking, musical performance, etc.).

The first prize went to Yersin School, second to Ly Thai To School and the third to Ly Thuong Kiet School and Nguyen Khuyen School. The contest was designed to provide an opportunity for students to meet and raise their marine environmental protection awareness and responsibility.
