Local authorities and public welfare agencies in Nha Trang City are focusing on urban innovation and decoration for the 2018 Lunar New Year which is coming in a few weeks.
According to the leader of Nha Trang City Urban Management Office, traffic work maintenance and repair are being sped up with patching, laying asphalt concrete, cleaning sewers, etc. Street project contractors are required to boost the progress and keep construction sites safe and clean during the year-end holiday.
The urban renovation for the lunar New Year in Nha Trang City has finished. To assure urban traffic safety and cleanliness during the holiday, the office has made specific plans designed for staff and specialized groups. More actions will also be done to prevent road space encroachments few days before Tet. The office has completed replacing and installing old street and traffic signs; repairing traffic works damaged in Typhoon Damrey; repainting road surface markings to facilitate the travel of local residents and tourists, says Ngo Khac Thinh, Deputy Chief of Nha Trang City Urban Management Office.
Particularly, the urban decoration also includes innovation and illumination on main streets with small landscape on Tran Phu Street; and plants on traffic islands. Nha Trang Urban Environment Company staff are trimming and ornamenting plants along streets and at roundabouts. Besides, plants at nurseries are being well cared to make sure they flower just in time for the New Year festival.
Reportedly, Nha Trang Urban Environment Company has trimmed lawn and plants; and pruned big trees at parks. Especially, trees damaged or knocked down in the typhoon Damrey have been recovered or replaced.
Ho Ngoc An, Director General of Nha Trang Urban Environment Company says from the beginning of December, Nha Trang Urban Environment Company has requested its affiliations to prepare for urban innovation and decoration for the lunar New Year. The company has invested in additional garbage trucks; boosted clean-up in all streets, trimmed and pruned trees and added ornamental trees. The urban innovation and decoration work is expected to basically finish 1 week before Tet to make Nha Trang more elegant to welcome revealers during the year-end festival.
More than 15,000 pots of flowers and thousands of colorful LED lights will be used to illuminate the city for the holiday. 10 landscapes will be installed at the city Spring Flower Festival; 17 large landscapes will be created along Tran Phu Street and main streets. The decoration work costs more than VND5 billion in total.
