Khanh Hoa Center for Preventive Health Care has just founded a preventive medical treatment & counseling clinic, according to Dr. Huynh Van Dong, Director of Khanh Hoa Center for Preventive Health Care.
In 2015, the Ministry of Health issued the Circular No. 51 redefining the functions and responsibilities of Khanh Hoa Center for Preventive Health Care. Accordingly, Khanh Hoa Center for Preventive Health Care is in charge of screening examination and early detection of infectious diseases, common diseases in schools and noninfectious diseases for individuals and communities; providing counseling on health care, nutrition, vaccination against diseases, controlling health risk factors in order to promote the community health; examining and managing community health and rehabilitation, etc.
Based on the regulations, in 2016, the center built a scheme and prepared infractructures, facilities and staff to establish a preventive medical treatment & counseling clinic. After a long time of preparation and undergo several assessment processes by Khanh Hoa Department of Health, the preventive medical treatment & counseling clinic was licensed and put into operation. At present, the center has 19 staff, including 9 doctors.
In this period, the clinic provides check-ups, counseling and outpatient treatment of such infectious diseases as influenza, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, mumps, measles, etc; non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and so on; and some sub clinical services, specifically, rapid tests for hepatitis B, C, E; dengue fever; Hematology test (blood glucose, blood glucose, blood type); Urine test (10 parameters analysis, rapid tests for heroin, morphine, opiates); test for cholera, dysentery, typhoid and some other subclinical services (electrocardiogram, ultrasound, audiometry, pulmonary function test). Particularly, the clinic performs screening tests for cervical cancer.
The fee is VND29,000/ check-up and VND21,000-322,000/ test at the clinic pursuant to the Ministry of Finance’s Circular 240 defining on the cost of health quarantine and preventive health care services at public medical institutions and Khanh Hoa People’s Council’s Resolution No. 12 issued on July 7, 2017 on the price list of medical examination and treatment beyond the scope of medical insurance coverage applied in State-owned medical intuitions in Khanh Hoa Province.
At present, the center is making preparation for fully satisfying the Ministry of Health’s regulations on vaccination services expected to be applied in mid-February. When put into operation, the center will have a sufficient supply of various vaccines to meet residents’ need for disease prevention. Besides, for better disease prevention in the community, the center plans to open 2 departments of examination, counseling and treatment for dental, oral and reproductive health at the clinic in the middle of the year.
