The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention & Control mission led by Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong paid a visit and offer relief aid to residents hit by Typhoon Damrey in Dien Xuan Commune, Dien Khanh District on January 27. Present at the event were Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, Chairperson of Vietnam Red Cross; Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman; Dao Cong Thien, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
21 home repair grants worth VND15 million each was offered to residents whose houses had been destroyed in the typhoon. The typhoon recovery operations in the commune were reported to the mission. Nguyen Xuan Cuong highly appreciated the local recovery effort and requested for continued effort to repair the damages and stabilize their lives.
