Korea, via the ASEAN 3 Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR), donated 10,000 tons of rice to Vietnam. The assistance is scheduled to be delivered to Vietnam in two shipments. The first one came on March 3 with 5,300 tons to help the 6 provinces. The hardest-hit Khanh Hoa received 2,000 tons. The second shipment of rice will arrive at Da Nang Port in Da Nang City on March 17. The aid will be sent to victims in the central provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Quang Tri.

On the behalf of the beneficiary provinces, Dao Cong Thien, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee thanked Korea Government for the aid and pledged to dispatch the rice to people in need as soon as possible.
