The roving propaganda with handouts is also a great way to help young people have better understanding and thus get rid of smoking."

Tran Ngoc Le, Deputy Chief of Division of Health, Deputy Chief of Nha Trang City Steering Board for Tobacco Control says besides propaganda through loudspeakers, the Division of Health will issue 3,000 leaflets and post up additional posters on building smoke-free Nha Trang tourist city at schools and in public places.

The propaganda focuses on raising awareness of smoking ban in public places such as medical and educational institutions, amusement parks for kids, places at high risk of fire; rights and responsibilities for building free-smoke environment; harmful effects on health such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, lung cancer, heart attack, etc; fines and punishment for violators, general advertising regulations, etc.

“Please quit smoking for the sake of women and children’s health. Do not hesitate to ask smokers to stop smoking in smoking restriction areas; ask your family members and your guests not to smoke indoors,” Tran Ngoc Le suggests.
